Police Chief Denies Downsizing Officers
The Inspector General of the Liberia National Police (LNP) Col. Patrick T. Sudue has dismissed claims that he downsized 30 police officers. He was reacting to a Monday publication of a local daily that he downsized 30 officers.
Col. Sudue said the report is false, misleading and expressed disappointment in the report, which he terms as being far from the truth.
“It was done to spoil my reputation as the new Inspector General of the police administration and we are here working,” he noted.
“Before a police officer is dismissed, it needs to go through a lot of process and that has to do with professional standard and court and so it is very hard to dismiss without demerit,” the police chief stated.
Col. Sudue pointed out that he only switched people from one place to another and indicated that he will work with people who feel, think and share the same vision to move the institution forward, adding that there are lots of deployment of police officers on the streets.
