Reckless Driving Leaves 15 Persons Wounded
The Mount Barclay community situated along the Kakata highway witnessed a tragic bus accident on Friday March 9, 2018.
Eyewitnesses explained that the accident was a result of reckless driving and therefore it led to over 15 persons sustaining wounds except the driver.
In an interview with one of the victims, Flomo Peter, senior student at the University of Liberia (UL), he said after the accident, the Mount Barclay police depot commander ordered them to go and treat themselves and transfer their respective medical bills to the station.
Flomo, along with other victims, disclosed that they felt disappointed about the police intervention regarding their misfortune.
He believes the action by the police commander was only a ploy to negotiate with the bus driver while they underwent pain.
Flomo narrated that as a result of the poor intervention of the police, they were left with no other alternative but to prevail on the drive to take them to a nearby clinic for medical attention without being accompanied by the police assigned in the area.
A family member of one of the victims, Rita Paye is meanwhile calling on the government to come to their aid to better take care of their medication.
At the same time, the entire number of victims has left their contact numbers at the Confident Clinic, FDA junction, where they took first aid treatment.
