Mayor Koijee Promises City Hall Reform
The newly appointed Mayor of the City of Monrovia Jefferson T. Koijee has promised to make the municipal government people friendly, clean and safe for residents and visitors.
Perhaps, the youngest Mayor since the formation of the Monrovia City Corporation, Koijee pledged his commitment to work in transforming the City which has an estimated 1.5 million population.
Reforming and moldering the zoning code, building standards and other programs that would address sanitation, transportation in the city would be pursued, he said. Reducing youth unemployment and skills programs for troubled youth are plans the Mayor has to fight crime in the city.
He made the statement Monday when he paid his first unofficial visit to the Monrovia City Corporation where he had meetings with employees, city officials and departments heads before his takeover ceremony.
The jubilant employees welcomed Mayor Koijee saying he’s best suited to bring total transformation to the City of Monrovia.
